The FFA Cup quarter finals have been set with an all A League clash taking top billing.
Melbourne City will take on Western Sydney Wanderers after both sides won this week.
The Wanderers beat Bonnyrigg White Eagles 2-1 thanks to goals from Alexander Baumjohann and Brendan Hamill. Bonnyrigg went behind after 12 minutes but managed to peg the A League side back thanks to a curling free kick from Tynan Diaz. The Wanderers regained the lead just 10 minutes later to set-up the all A League clash.
It’ll be two all A League ties in two rounds for the Victory after they beat Newcastle Jets 1-0, thanks to a goal from Bruno Fornaroli.
Elsewhere, Adelaide United managed to scrape through against Queensland Lions after a defensive error gifted the A League side the decisive goal. United were largely second best throughout the game but a scuffed clearance Josh Brindell-South saw Craig Goodwin pounce.
United will travel to Sydney in the quarter-finals to take on APIA Leichardt who hope to claim two A League scalps in succession after their famous win over Melbourne Victory last week.
Heidelberg United ran out comfortable 4-0 winners against Adelaide Comets to set-up an all NPL quarter-final against fellow Victorians Bentleigh Green.
The final quarter final sees defending champions Sydney FC travel to Melbourne to take on Avondale FC.
