Our motor sports experts here at Gallagher have worked with Motorsport Australia to create a tailored National Insurance Program that incorporates Personal Accident Cover, Public Liability Cover and Professional Indemnity Cover.
Personal Accident Cover
Personal Accident insurance can provide financial assistance to insured individuals (such as Motorsport Australia license holders, crew, officials and volunteers) who are injured during a Motorsport Australia-approved activity. This excludes any medical costs that are covered (or partly-covered) by Medicare. More information on Medicare coverage can be found on the Make A Claim page.
Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Cover
Public Liability Insurance can provide protection for Motorsport Australia and its insured representatives against legal and associated costs following an accusation of negligence.
Professional Indemnity insurance provides protection for insured Motorsport Australia representatives against legal and associated costs that may occur if they are accused of negligent acts, errors or omissions.
When does cover apply?
Motorsport Permits
Most activities with a Motorsport Australia Permit are generally covered by the Motorsport Australia National Insurance Program. This includes official races, official practice sessions and social permit events
Sporting Car Club activities
Most activities conducted by Motorsport Australia affiliated sporting car clubs are generally covered by the Motorsport Australia National Insurance Program. This includes committee meetings, social events, fundraising and working bees.
Enthusiast Car Club activities
Most activities conducted by Motorsport Australia affiliated enthusiast car clubs are general covered by the Motorsport Australia National Insurance Program. This includes social events static displays, fundraising and committee meetings.
